It is with a heavy heart that Teacher Prep shares the news of the passing of our longtime colleague, Torey Wilson. Torey served as a program associate and lecturer in the Program in Teacher Preparation since 2002. He also served as associate director of the Princeton University Preparatory Program until this past September, when he was named assistant director of the Prison Teaching Initiative. Teacher Prep is pleased to announce two new fellowships for the 2018-19 academic year at the Sherborne School in Dorset, England and at the Haberdasher Aske School near London. The Sherborne School is seeking two fellows, Math and Art and the Habserdasher Aske is open to all academic areas. Please visit our fellowship page for more information and application specifics.
The Teaching Experience for Undergraduates (TEU) program is accepting applications for the summer 2018 math and science programs through February 28th. TEU provides a rich summer experience for undergraduates from 61 partner liberal arts institutions interested in secondary STEM teaching careers. Teacher Prep students who have attended have found the TEU very valuable in furthering their understandings of math/science pedagogy and leadership. A summer stipend, as well as living expenses are provided.
TPP Program Associate and Lecturer, Torey Willson, was recently named the administrator director of Prison Teaching Initiative (PTI) which has become part of the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning. The move is intended to better support PTI’s many volunteer instructors, who teach college courses to incarcerated students. In addition to being named a director at PTI, Mr. Wilson will continue as a Program Associate with Teacher Prep.

The Office of the Dean of the College is pleased to announce that Todd Kent will be the director of the Program in Teacher Preparation/Teacher Certification, effective July 17, 2017. Kent will provide leadership for the program, which has been reorganized to focus primarily on teacher certification and various outreach initiatives to local school districts.
For the past 20 years, Dr. Steve Carson has helped to develop over 250 teachers’ understanding of Earth Science content and science practices through multiple QUEST units regarding Weather, Humans’ affects on local Climate, Life and Chemistry in the Ocean, and Climate & the Ocean.
