The Program in Teacher Preparation is proud to congratulate Ryan Herbert *19, Anna Leader ’18, and Karen Zhang ‘19 for their nomination for the 2020 New Jersey Distinguished Clinical Intern Award. The annual award recognizes the top 15 graduates from the 25 educator preparation programs in New Jersey’s colleges and universities. The award process also acknowledges the work of the teachers who hosted the candidates during their clinical internship (student teaching). Because of the pandemic, the state suspended the selection of 15 award recipients and instead recognized the work and accomplishments of every nominee with a certificate and letter from the New Jersey Department of Education. Ryan Herbert did his student teaching in biology at Montgomery High School under the mentorship of Christopher Resch. Anna Leader was an English candidate who taught at Princeton High School and was hosted by Susan Murphy. Karen Zhang student taught at the Lawrenceville School under the guidance of Teacher Prep alumnus Brent Ferguson PTS’06. The Program extends its warmest congratulations to Ryan, Anna, and Karen on this recognition of their outstanding performance and thanks each host teacher for their support and mentorship of these future educators!
