Senior Director of SIS Operations, Relay Graduate School of Education

Tania Shinkawa is the Senior Director of Student Systems Strategy at Relay Graduate School of Education, an accredited national nonprofit institution of higher education. Relay’s mission is to teach teachers and school leaders to develop in all students the academic skills and strength of character needed to succeed in college and life. As Senior Director of Student Systems Strategy, Tania leads the institution’s efforts to implement, refine, and maintain Relay’s student platforms and student data systems, while setting the vision for exemplary student and academic data management and working across teams to bring that vision to life. Before stepping into this role, Tania served as Senior Director of Strategy and Operations for Teacher Pathways, where she oversaw selection strategy, budgets & financial modeling, program evaluation, and operations for Relay’s recruitment team.

 Prior to joining Relay, Tania served in several roles at the NYC Department of Education (NYC DOE). During that time her work focused on critical issues for the school system such as teacher recruitment & preparation, teacher evaluation & development, teacher leadership & incentives, talent distribution, and school choice & quality. Tania has also worked in assessment reporting at The Grow Network/McGraw-Hill, and she began her career in online financial services at Prudential Financial. Tania holds a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Princeton University. Tania has served as a board member for several Princeton alumni organizations, and she currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
